"Elegant In Navy"

This is a one-of-a-kind cocktail dress made from navy silk faille, beaded lace, and tulle. The sleeveless, scooped-neck lace bodice is heavily beaded with navy seed beads and sequins. Scattered over the circular faille skirt are appliqués of beaded lace, which were handsewn on the skirt. The skirt is fully lined in self-fabric. The bodice is lined in tulle. The dress is underlain with a navy bustier trimmed in lace and beads and lined in white China silk. The crinoline is navy lycra form fitting over the hips with a very full gathered tulle skirt. The jewelry consists of a vintage working rhinestone pin on the dress bodice. The earrings and the "pin" on the hat and handbag rhinestones are from Marcia Friend. The navy "velvet" pillbox hat is piped in navy satin and has a velvet "flower" and rhinestone pin. The handbag, shoes, and gloves complete this beautiful ensemble. PerfectPatterns 2019C was used in the construction of this ensemble. The handbag is called "Opera", a Marsha Olson design.
